55B/C Course Overview: ONline/face-to-face (Hybrid) Winter '10

The combined 55B and C courses are a continuation of the analysis and interpretation of the elements of design as applied to the practice of visual communication. The 55C students will analyze methods in production design, type selection, and type specification in relation to current computer pre-press technologies and the WWW. Both the 55B's and 55C's will complete the same projects listed at left. Emphasis is placed on styles in graphic design, materials and forms of communication, and the changing role of artists and designers brought about by the use of electronic technology. The 55B/C's will integrate the computer as a tool to realize design solutions and will begin with a Web Site Design project.
