Design and execute a wine label design for the following winery:
Capolan Winery - a Sonoma County
winery known for their Merlot. Here is a link to their website I designed last year which is not active at the moment.
Things to keep in mind:
The interesting thing about designing a wine label is you are essentially
working on a 2D surface that will applied to a 3D object. Your design
must
be a quick read and most importantly, look like a wine label.
The DESIGN process is as follows:
1: RESEARCH: If you are not familiar with the
look and feel of wine labels, go to a wine
discount house or a major super market and do some research. The web
is also a good place to research.
2: THUMBNAILS: Six to ten thumbies should be completed to preview your
concept.
3: ROUGH LAYOUT: A 1:1 layout is required for final approval. This
will include color decisions as well as the style of the image (illustration)
to be used.
4: FINISHED PRESENTATION: The project will be presented digitally. Details given in class.
Limits:Important!
Each layout will be contained within a 432px (wide) x 864px (tall) space at 72 ppi.
Details will be given in class.
Final Presentation:
The final presentaion will be in the form of an online slide show which I will put together. I will be giving details in class and will have a video tutorial for you.
