Project:
There are thousands of typefaces, some great and some really bad. One of the most important aspects in understanding the integration and selection of letterforms and type styles, is just looking at different typefaces.
The project is to create a series of caricature faces using only letterforms and bits and pieces of individual typefaces. See video example below and more project examples under the project link in the sidebar .
Objective:
To understand the changing character and dynamics of various typefaces and and their associated letterforms.
Requirements: 1. Create a minimum of 4 different caricatures. We will pick 1 for submission. 2. You may use any combination of existing typefaces 3.You may use either Photoshop or Illustrator. 4. Use only black and white. No color.
Important:
Size: Your file size is 576px wide x 576px tall @72ppi saved as 01.jpg.
Submission:
Email your 01.jpg to me on the due date. I will put together a Flash slide show of the finished caricatures and a video for online delivery.
