TWO: UNDERSTANDING TYPE...10 points

Project: Create the lowercase letters of a font using the letters given. Using the letterforms l, n, o, s, v, and x, create the rest of the alphabet a through z.

Test your design by setting your first and last name with the letterforms you have created at the bottom of the page.

Objective:
To explore the visual relationships and subtleties of letterforms in relationship to their changing personalities.

Requirements:
1. Use Adobe Photoshop to design the typeface. Download the image below and convert to grayscale and save as a TIFF.
Create a new page and by cutting and pasting pieces of the letterforms given, create the alphabet. When finished create your first and last name.

2. Your layout will be contained on an 8 1/2" x 11" page. It may be oriented either vertical (tall) or horizontal (wide). Finished hardcopy output is required.

3. Indicate the x-height and the baseline of the alphabet you create.
