The Graphic and Interactive Design programs at
DeAnza College are part of the Arts Department in the
Creative Arts Division and have been in existence since 1990.
Due to the rapidly expanding needs of business and industry
for multimedia specialists in the field, the Interactive DESIGN
Program has been created and focuses on developing expertise
in interactive design and motion graphics for industry and the
World Wide Web.

The programs lead toward the A. A. Degree by preparing
students for the university. Both the Graphic Design and
Interactive Design Programs emphasize the interpretation of
the ELEMENTS and PRINCIPLES of design as combined with

the use of the computer as a tool in facilitating solutions to
graphic design projects. Emphasis is placed on the creative
integration and selection of type styles and images as they
relate to the printed page, Film/Video output, as well as the
World Wide Web.
